Have a hard time prying your littles away from screens? Nestled beside Green Timbers Urban Forest, the Surrey Nature Centre is a place for kids and adults to explore nature right here in ‘the Valley.’ Check out the various outdoor and indoor drop-in activities, spend time in the Exploration Room and sign up for nature programs.
A picturesque site telling the story of a Surrey family circa 1900, the family friendly site is open to visitors to experience Surrey long ago. Expect costumed staff, fresh baking and inviting grounds for every day drop-ins, special events and programs. The grounds are open every day, even if the farmhouse is not, with heritage demos like cookie baking and butter churning on the weekends.
This new Surrey hot spot reopens Jan. 29, offering a final chance to experience the blockbuster exhibit: Dinosaurs Unearthed! Exciting and interactive, this exhibition showcases a range of feathered and fierce dinosaurs from the Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods. But they’re only around for a limited time so make it a point to stop by this winter before they go extinct and are replaced by LEGO.
This one-of-a-kind demonstration farm in Abbotsford is where you can get to know your food. Your EcoDairy ticket includes both a self-guided Discovery Centre experience and a tour through the dairy barn and robot room accompanied by a guide. Dairy barn tours for walk-in guests run hourly.
Clayburn Village is located at the foot of Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, British Columbia and was designated for conservation as a Heritage Site in 1996. Through a century, Clayburn remains as a secluded little village, reminiscent of the turn-of-the-century English village atmosphere of the times, with brick buildings with neat gardens, surrounded by white picket fences.
Project climbing centre is located in both Abbotsford and Cloverdale BC. Both locations boast the best climbing gym terrain for bouldering and lead climbing.The newest climbing gym in the Lower Mainland (Cloverdale), is a 8,000-square foot bouldering facility for climbers of all levels and abilities. The Cloverdale gym has every angle wall from cave to slab, a massive top-out boulder and even an auto-belay wall which is awesome for kids and beginners.
Zealous Art & painting pARTies is a fun art studio in Downtown Langley that offers art lessons for all ages and skill levels.
There is no formal art lessons, no pressure and no ‘bake time ‘ needed, you go home with your creation. You can paint paint anything during the open studio operating hours or book the studio for your private party.
Bowling is good ol’ classic family fun and Clover Lanes in downtown Cloverdale has been around 60+ years, offering 5-pin bowling fun for all ages and skill levels. Check their webpage for glow bowling times and lane reservation info.
The Canadian Museum of Flight is a non-profit, volunteer-driven museum in Langley dedicated to restoring, preserving and showcasing Canada’s rich aviation heritage. The museum has over Visitors will have a chance to see civilian and military jets, piston driven engine aircraft, gliders, and helicopters on display, six of which have been restored to flying condition
Urban Safari Rescue Society rescues and cares for exotic animals as well as educates the public about animals, the natural world and conservation issues. Whether it’s a small group of 2 or 3 or a larger group, a guide will take you through all the animals and teach you about them with stories and fun facts.
