Win the Ultimate Girls’ Night Out in Willoughby?

With a hectic work schedule and two little ones at home, it’s not as easy as it used to be to spend time with friends.

Gone are the days of ripping up a dance floor until 2 a.m. with my best gal pals and then meeting again the next morning for a leisurely brunch at noon to discuss the previous night’s debauchery.

Okay, okay, I still may hit a dance floor a couple times a year with the hubs, but I’m usually home at a respectful(ish) hour and up at the crack of dawn with the two wee little ladies in my life to pour cereal and turn on the cartoons.

Let’s just say life has changed — big nights out on the town with my friends are a rarity.

So, when asked to help plan the Ultimate Girls’ Night Out with my blogging bestie (Jennifer Erickson from the Lower Mainland Children’s Directory), I was up for the challenge.

Thanks to Benchmark Homes Ltd. — the developers behind Willoughby’s new community of single-family homes in the flourishing Yorkson area of Langley (Evergreen) — Jennifer and I experienced the ultimate day & night of pampering that I’m so excited to share with all of you.

The entire experience, which involved having a blowout out at a salon, pedicures, a makeup application and lesson, topped off by dinner on one of the Fraser Valley’s hottest new restaurants, left us feeling pampered from head-to-toe.

And while I do live in the Willoughby area, it was a great opportunity to discover some new hot spots that had been on mysummer bucket list to check out.

Now before you read on, keep in mind that YOU have the chance to win this Ultimate Girls’ Night Out, so pay close attention.

Part 1: Hair

Our first stop was to the Vivid Hair Boutique & Blow Dry Bar to transform our locks from drab to fab.

Located at 8700 200th St. in Langley, this sophisticated salon, dedicated to being Langley’s premier hair salon offering exceptional haircuts and beautiful colour work,  is one of my favourite new destinations. In addition the gorgeous spa-like setting, owners John and Teriva, along with their friendly team go above and beyond to ensure a top-notch experience.

While I used to always drive out to South Surrey  for my blowouts,  Vivid offers a full blowout menu with some fab styles to choose from. Since it was the Ultimate Girls’ Night Out, I optioned for the Glamour Girl, which entailed big, sexy curls. And the head massage… all I can say is wow! I came pretty close to falling asleep in my chair. In addition to our blowouts, Jennifer and I left with two gift cards for the same service to give away and  two gift packs, complete with some goodies from their Devine haircare line.

Part 2: Dream Home

Next , it was time to check out Evergreen — a new housing development by Benchmark Homes Ltd. currently under construction at 84 A Avenue and 206 Street in Langley. Both of us were pretty curious to see what they looked like and of course we wanted to pay our respects to our big sponsor that made our evening possible.

While they’re still being built, we did get to check out the outside and the plans for this new neighbourhood. Located next to dedicated green space and across from Yorkson Community Park, these luxurious homes feature 3000 to 3600 sq. ft of family-focussed living space with generous sized lots that offer ample space.

Part 3: Nails

And what’s a girls night out without great nails? I had yet to go for a pedicure this summer, so it was time for a visit to Sassy Nail Salon & Spa at the new Willoughby Town Centre.

With all of the new development in the area, few know this little hot spot exists. Aside from being on the affordable end, the owners — a husband and wife team — take pride in providing a clean and sanitary environment for their clients.

The pedicure also included a delightful foot massage an hot towel treatment that had me melting in my vibrating chair.

Part 4: Makeup

With pretty toes, we headed to the beauty BOUTIQUE at Shopper’s Drug Mart just across the way (also in the Willoughby Town Centre).

Upon arrival, the fabulous beauty team warmly greeted us and led both Jennifer and myself to our stations where some snacks awaited.

The beauty BOUTIQUE experience is like no other. The atmosphere is inviting, welcoming and designed for exploration and discovery with the various cosmetic lines.

Andrea was my makeup artist and she worked wonders with the Lise Wateier line  for my makeover.

I couldn’t believe the transformation when I looked in the mirror. Make sure you visit with Andrea the next time you’re at the Willoughby Town Centre Beauty Boutique — this little lady is a genius with a makeup brush. The ladies even gave us a nice parting gift of goodies to give to our grand prize winner.

Part 5: Dinner & Cocktails

After hair, makeup and nails, we had worked up quite the appetite. Thankfully, our next stop was the Match Eatery & Public House for dinner and cocktails. Located at Cascades Casino Resort, this contemporary pub offers gastro-pub food, premium sports viewing and the best in live entertainment.

The patio, recently voted #1 in the Fraser Valley by Fraser Valley 5, is incredible! I’m talking about super sleek, ample seating, big booths, a fan that blows mist to cool you off — we both felt as though we were at a Las Vegas dining spot.

The manager, Michael, had a special spot for us reserved and treated us to around of champagne sangria cocktails. Everything on the menu looked amazing, so we decided to try a few things, such as the Chicken and Waffles (hands-down my favourite menu item), the thin crust chicken pizza and some nachos. No, we didn’t order all that just for us — a few friends arrived to join us and share the experience.

I definitely recommend checking out Match — especially their patio this summer. You won’t be disappointed!

Feeling full and tired from our day & evening of fun, it was time to head home. While we had an amazing experience, both of us gals left with wondering how we’d ever top our Ultimate Girls’ Night? It’s a challenge we’re certainly happy to take on ;)

A huge thank you to our sponsors Benchmark Homes Ltd. and Evergreen for this incredible opportunity. We’d also like to send out a big shout out to all the participating businesses that made our dream night a reality:
