It’s back, baby: Win 2 Tickets to the Fraser Valley Cork & Keg

Who says you have to cross the bridge for big city fun?

Nowadays, there are plenty of exciting events and parties happening all over the ‘the Valley,’ including the 4th Annual Fraser Valley Cork & Keg that’s coming to Cascades Casino Resort on Sept. 19.

Look who I ran into at the Langley Community Farmers Market last week! It’s Lynette Faye, one of the Cork and Keg’s organizers who was busy selling tickets to this great event.

Now in its fourth year, the Fraser Valley Cork and Keg festival is a showcase of local and international wines, craft and premium beer, Fraser Valley delicacies including local producers, restaurants and culinary artisans. Guests to this exciting event can expect more than 300 different types of wine, beer and spirits — truly providing a little something for everyone.

It’s also a great opportunity to hire a sitter, get dolled up, mix and mingle — actually, it’s the perfect date night!!!

Jason and I had a chance to attend the festival last year and had a total blast mingling, tasting and sipping our way through all the vendors. Imagine if you will, Costco-sized samples of some of the finest whiskey, scotch, wine, vodka and craft beer around. And now imagine going back for seconds, thirds… okay, it was a bit blurry after that. It’s pretty much like Disneyland for adults.

Then there was the oysters and local cheeses and pulled pork sliders, oh my!

Highlights of the festival include:

  • Oyster bar, presented by 1 Fish 2 Fish Fresh Seafood Market
  • Live entertainment
  • All tastings included in the ticket price

The Cork and Keg event consists of two components each with its own unique audience.

The trade and media portion of the day is a great opportunity for anyone in the hospitality industry to discover something new or reacquaint themselves with a variety of products provided by our vendors during the festival. This segment is the perfect opportunity to meet with liquor agents, network with buyers, trade staff, and industry media. Back for 2014, a series of trade-focused seminars discussing wine terrior, the art of craft beer, and food pairings.

Trade event*:   Friday, September 19th 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*This portion of the event is complementary and limited to industry guests only.

The festival welcomes local consumers who are invited to mix, mingle, sip, and taste their way around our vendors. Whether you are a wine or beer enthusiast, a novice who would like to learn more, or a seasoned guru — we look forward to seeing you.  What will your favourite pairing be?

Festival details: (This is the one we plan on attending).

  • Friday, September 19th  7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Cascades Casino Resort
  • 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley, B.C.
