Things to do in Abbotsford

As the highly successful, best-selling I Love the 90’s Tour continues selling out arenas across America, the party is set to continue this summer here in the Fraser Valley with an all-new lineup of the 90’s greatest hit-makers.
On Saturday, July 8, TLC will take the reins on a nostalgia-driven blast from the past joined by a stellar cast of 90’s hit makers including:
  • Naughty by Nature,
  • Biz Markie,
  • Montell Jordan,
  • C+C Music Factory with Freedom Williams and SNAP!

Being the avid 90’s fan that I am, I can’t wait to return to Abbotsford Centre for round 2 and make a night of it with a group of girlfriends that I went to high school with. The first show was a real blast to the past, which was basically an arena-sized dance party filled with men and women who grew up in the decade of chocolate brown lipliner and Pauly Shore movies.

Things to do in Abbotsford

TLC was one of my all-time favourite bands growing up. As a young Valley gal, my friends and I would dress up like members of the band (FYI I was always left eye because of my crazy left eye) and we’d perform a routine for our parents. Fast forward to high school, TLC was still a top contender in my music rotation. Grade 12 was spent cruising around with my friends listening to ‘No Scrubs’ on repeat.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, I highly recommend doing so ASAP. The last show was a sold-out event. Oh, and don’t forget to dress in 90’s attire. I’m sure you have a plaid shirt and pair of Converse kicks laying around somewhere, right?

Here are just 5 reasons to attend this concert

  1. Where else can you celebrate the 90’s in all it’s plaid, oversized cell phone glory in real life?
  2. Because you don’t want to drive downtown, pay bridge tolls and worry about parallel parking.
  3. It’s the end of the school year and you are ready to blow off some steam from all the school end/extra curricular activity stress.
  4. You’ve been so buys that you’ve neglected your friends. Make it up to them by winning a ticket for yourself and 4 of your bestie (see contest below).
  5. It’s TLC!!!! Why wouldn’t you go?????

I love the 90’s! All I listen to in the car is 90’s music. My kids even know the words to all the songs I grew up listening to! This would be awesome to win

I would love to win to get a night out with my man and some friends to have some “me time” away from the kids. I had surgery for my ovarian tumour and had a brain tumour I’ve been dealing with and haven’t gone out to enjoy myself with friends in years. The last time I did something with friends was in 2013 so this would be really nice. I was born in 1992 so I’m a 90a girl this would be a serious blast! I’ve been to one concert in my life so I would love to go and enjoy a show with performers. Either way win or not I want to thank you for such an awesome giveaway, this is actually thoughtful and a great way to get a busy mom out there having fun! I’m always taking my kids to sports (swimming and hockey) and my husband has 5 kids and a grandson and he works so much we never get time together, we try to go to the float house every few months but it’s not the same as actually getting out there and enjoying yourself for a night. Someone is gonna have a killer time I can tell yeah that right now lol so great thanks again and happy Canada day to everyone enjoy your weekend!
